The CMA exam dates for the June term have been announced, with CMA Inter/Final exams beginning on July 1st, 2023. With only three months until the exam, students may be concerned about studying for specific subjects, such as CMA Final CFR (Paper 17).

This subject is known to be difficult, and many students struggle and fail in it. However, we are here to offer advice on how to study for the CMA Final CFR within the time frame allotted, both with and without classes. CMA Final CFR Syllabus.

The CMA Final CFR syllabus is divided into five sections. 

• Section A focuses on GAAP and Accounting Standards and includes Accounting Standards (20%)
• Section B covers the Accounting of Business Combinations & Restructuring (20%)
• Section C includes Consolidated Financial Statements (Ind AS), which focuses on Group Financial Statements (20%)
• Section D covers Developments in Financial Reporting and other items of Reporting, which include Recent Trends in Financial Reporting, Valuation, Accounting, and Reporting of Financial Instruments and others (Ind AS), Share-Based Payments (Ind AS), and Reporting through XBRL (Extended Business Reporting Language) (25%)
• Section E focuses on Government Accounting in India, covering Government Accounting Procedures (15%)
  

2. How to Study CMA Final CFR with Classes?

With only three months until the exam, it is important to make the most of your time if you are taking CMA Final CFR classes.

CFR classes are typically 260 hours long and cover all sections and parts of AS and IND AS. However, despite carrying only about 15 marks in the exam, AS and IND AS are the most important parts of CMA Final CFR.

So now, the question arises of how to cover the syllabus in the 3 months while doing classes. 

To complete the syllabus in the allotted time, it is recommended that you attend one lecture per day and watch the AS marathon video on YouTube, which can assist you in completing the AS parts quickly also.

Start watching the lectures from Part B, and don't start doing your video classes from the AS classes because there are so many classes that will take up a lot of your time.

We recommend that you watch the AS marathon videos, which cover all of the AS and are short, compiled lectures of the AS classes.

You can also watch revision videos on YouTube and revise from your summary notebook, which will help you revise more efficiently and finish the lectures faster.

Try to finish all the classes 15 days before the exam so that it will help you in revising. 

You need to take out this much time from your daily routine, for CFR if you are doing it with classes because you need to study the rest of the subjects as well. 

3. How to Study CMA Final CFR Without Classes? 

It is recommended that you begin studying for the CMA Final CFR exam with section B and work your way through to section E.

This is because Section A covers a large portion of the exam but only carries 15 points. While we do not recommend skipping this section entirely, it is best to study it after you have finished the others.

By beginning with section B and working your way through the sections that carry the most marks in the exam, you will be able to focus your efforts on the areas that are most likely to help you pass.

You can watch revision videos while studying to clear up any doubts you may have and revise accordingly. The end goal is to study strategically and efficiently in order to improve your chances of passing the CMA Final CFR exam.

Mock tests are an excellent way to know your knowledge and identify areas that need more attention. After finishing each chapter, it is recommended that you take chapter-wise mock tests to assess your knowledge of that topic. This will assist you in determining which areas you are strong in and which require improvement.
