Written by CA Satish Jalan | Mar 4, 2023 7:31:08 AM

Students get very confused, about whether they should take CA /CMA  face-to-face classes or video classes, both have their own advantages and disadvantages, but after covid video classes became a new trend and were more comfortable for students as it saved students’ traveling time & classes didn't clash with their college timings or other classes.

Previously students’ class timings used to clash with other class timings, college timings, etc so video classes were taken by many students but students didn't understand how should they study.

So today we are going to help you to understand how you should study with CA/CMA video classes

Create Slots

You must create appropriate slots for the video classes. You can't rely on your moods because if you don't feel like studying, you won't be able to finish the classes. Make a schedule of 8 am, 11 pm, 2 pm, and 5 pm for classes and study accordingly.

Create A Timetable

There is a difference between face-to-face classes and video classes; there is a proper timetable for when the classes will be held, but when it comes to video classes, it becomes difficult for students because there is no timetable; So, make a routine and decide when in the day you will watch the class.

Get away From Distractions

While watching CA /CMA video classes, you need to stay focused, so always wear an earphone because watching without earphones will bring more distraction as you will be studying from home and it won't be a study environment like classes, so always wear an earphone if you are doing class in your phone, and turn off all your apps notification, because it will only distract you, and if you are doing class on your laptop, keep your phone on silent and keep it away from you.

Be Attentive

Also, try to be attentive and involved in the CA/CMA classes. What we mean by this is that you should actively participate in answering questions and solving questions while the teacher is solving them. This will help you be attentive and determine whether you are following what you are learning in class.  When you are attentive, you understand what is taught in class. Being attentive in CA/CMA classes is important as you need to have clear concepts.

Be Patient

We have heard from students that they are unable to sit for a longer period of time because the CA/CMA classes are too long, basically, CA / CMA classes are long but if we divide a topic's class into two or more parts it will result in 120 classes, which will take a very long time to complete. And if you see how long the classes are, you will end up not finishing them.

Do not Skip

Make sure you are comfortable with the speed of the video, don't just skip the parts of the class if they are long or speed up just to complete the class. Watch the class at a speed you are comfortable with, Don't try to speed up your class by skipping ahead. Stay on track, or you may unintentionally skip over important information or become overwhelmed by a flood of information. We always advise our students to watch the video for the first time at the normal speed because you need to understand the concepts the first time, and when you watch the second time you can speed up.

Take Notes

Make notes while doing the classes. Taking notes is important because it helps you to retain information, and you can pause the class to take more notes without missing anything. It will help in revising when you are doing the second revision with the video class.

Ask Questions

Ask Questions to clear your doubts, Once you've organized your information, contact your teacher or send an email with your questions and concerns as soon as possible. Doing it immediately after watching the video will keep the questions fresh in your mind, allowing you to better relate information and understand your teacher's responses.
