Tips & Tricks Shared by Our CMA Rankers
To pass the CMA Final exam, Adarsh Solanki AIR 32 needed a well-planned strategy. Faced with failure in his last attempt, he was determined to pass both groups together. He methodically prepared a six-month plan on an Excel sheet to accomplish this. This strategy tried to achieve a balance between his studies while remaining focused.
Handling the pressure in the CMA journey can be tough since there are limited gaps between exams. To prepare effectively one day before the exam, Adarsh emphasized creating concise summary notes for theory subjects. This would enable swift revision. For practical subjects like costing, where there's less time for practice, Adarsh devised a clever solution. He maintained a separate notebook, listing important questions, their page numbers, question numbers, and the tricks or patterns needed to solve them. This strategic preparation aided him in confidently tackling practical questions.
For Jai Kishan Agarwal (AIR 38) and Rishav Choudhary (AIR 24), they faced a challenge as they started their classes late. To ensure ample time for revision, they adopted a proactive approach. While attending classes, they analyzed the 2016 syllabus to identify key areas of focus. They determined which chapters, topics, and parts were important by examining past exam papers and the Institute's suggested answers. They classified questions A, B, and C based on their frequency in past exams. This classification helped them prioritize their revision efforts. Rishav even created a WhatsApp group with his mother to share and review these categorized lists one day before the exams.
Amresh Majhi AIR 49 had an innovative approach to revision. He printed past year's question papers and solved them daily during the revision period. Additionally, he recorded his voice and created videos to compile important concepts. He stored these recordings in a dedicated WhatsApp group, allowing him to repeatedly review them for faster revision during the exam period.
Debashish, an AIR 16 CMA Inter ranker, believed in focusing on past year papers and important formulas on the day before the exam.
